Both tours offer excellent chances of seeing the Aurora and typically last 6 to 10 hours, depending on how far we need to drive for clear skies and how late the Northern Lights appear. Both tours head in the same direction in search of the best weather, with guides sharing real-time sky condition updates. However, to keep group sizes small, they usually do not stop at the exact same locations.


Main Differences

Comfort & Facilities

  • The Big Bus has an onboard restroom, but please note that it cannot be used while driving, and like any bus facility, it may not always be in perfect condition.

  • On the Minibus Chase, we stop at public restrooms when possible.

Pick-up Location

  • Both tours depart from Tromsø Havn Prostneset in the city center.

Group Sizes

  • Minibus Chase: Up to 15 guests

  • Big Bus Chase: Up to 50 guests

Minibus Chase: Expedition meal, winter suits, snow boots, tripods, hot drinks, hotel drop-off within the city center, photos
Big Bus Chase: Hot drinks, cookies, photos
